Indeed, it’s snowing in Banff. Sunshine plans to open November 8.
Last fall, we covered the race in Colorado to be the first ski area to open; it would appear that race is on once again. Loveland is making snow as we speak, with the goal being to open at least one run with a vertical of 1,000 feet as soon as possible.

Seattlest is lamenting the surging Canadian dollar. Whistler is packed with Americans who make the drive from Washington or Oregon, and it looks like their dollar won’t be going as far as it used to… as of today, the Canadian dollar is on par with the American dollar.
