A funny thing happened while I was in BC: winter finally arrived here in Ontario! Looks like more or less all the ski hills here are open 100%, and Blue Mountain happily hired back most of the staff it was forced to let go earlier because of awful conditions this year.

The actual bowl is a little to the left, outside this picture. The sign ahead warns of a 15 to 30 minute hike.
It’s true: “Published

I can’t believe I’ve been back for almost a week and haven’t provided a report on my trip. Apologies! I’ve been buried in work and email since I returned, and have been extremely busy catching up. Thank you for your patience.
I’ve finally snagged a few minutes to sit down and write, so here goes: without further adieu, the complete Whistler vacation report!
(I’m not planning to write this in any particular order, so I apologize in advance in case it emerges as a scattered article.)
In the meantime, it’s worth noting that the Winter X Games are featured on the front page of Yahoo today; they’re running an article about freestyle snowmobiling.
I’m back from my super-awesome Whistler trip, but I’m way behind on email. As a result, I can’t post a full entry yet. However, here’s a few pics I took with my crappy camera phone, inspired by a request earlier this month to take a pic of Franz’s run.
Here’s a pic of the sign at [...]
Mental note from Stanley’s Happy Landing Lounge (a bar in Vancouver airport, where we’re watching the Chargers-Patriots game before heading to Whistler):
Remember to pack your brand new snowboarding pants on your trip. Crap!
I don’t think there will be any posts over the next week, as I’m off first thing in the morning. Stay tuned for a full report when I get back! I’m gone a week.
Thanks again for reading, and see you next week.
