Dude, I'll be honest, I haven't been following your career as much as I probably should, given I now operate a blog about snowboarding. But when I saw you tear up the US Snowboarding Championships on TV I decided to find out a bit more about you.

First, I Googled "Shaun White". That took me to shaunwhite.com. Dude, what is that thing? I'm all for online simplicity but man, that thing has to go. It's got close to no information on you, hasn't been updated since January, and is written in the third person the whole time, which is kind of creepy. Do you have a ghostwriter?

Thinking I was clearly missing something, I used the Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool and discovered close to 70,000 people a month search for derivatives of your name. Among the more popular queries was "Shaun White Myspace.com", so I headed to Myspace.com to find your site. Suffice to say the only Shaun White sites I could find were not worthy of a snowboarding champ, and not even worth the outbound link.

Am I missing something here?

You need an online presence that promotes yourself, even if you're an introvert. A way to provide some information on yourself and connect with your fans. It will only make you a bigger name.
