The local I rode with for a while told me it was *also* good but preferred Thredbo. I looked at Perisher and went with Thredbo only because it seemed a little easier to get to without a car. I actually paid attention to what folks we wearing. :) I noticed everyone was kind of toned down, and a LOT of people were using rental gear -- based on what I observed, I don't think people invest as much into the clothes and the gear.
