Ski Resorts

Back, With A Snowboarding Trip on the Horizon.

Hello!

Okay, so it’s been a while. I could make up all the excuses in the world, but the fact of the matter is Josh and I ran out of steam as the winter ended. Not that we were posting tons in the first place, but I think we both ran out of things to talk about as the season subsided. Moreover, although I own both a road bike and mountain bike, I’ve been doing very little of either. Instead, I’ve been running like a madman. And I’ve lost a few pounds as a result!

But anyway. Here we are. I’ve missed the blog. And I see people keep coming by to talk about snowboarding, ACL surgery recovery, Josh’s new car and more. Thank you for continuing to support us, even though we went AWOL for, like, two full months.

I do have some very exciting news to share, though. Despite the fact the temperature in Toronto is generally hot, muggy and sunny, I’m going snowboarding next week! On Thursday I’m heading to Sydney, Australia for business trip, and after my work there is done I’m going to spend three nights and four days at Thredbo, a popular Australian ski resort. They’ve got a base of a little over 50 centimetres up there right now, as it’s winter, so I figured what the heck — I could either shred for a couple of days, or tour around Sydney. Of course I chose the shredding.  :)

So. Net result here is I’ll be talking a fair bit about Thredbo and snowboarding in Australia/New Zealand in the coming days, as I did a lot of research on the scene down there before making my decision. Stay tuned!

  1. Will you be renting equipment this time around?
Good for you Adam. I am a bit jealous.

  3. Look forward to reading the posts. I was lucky enough to spend a couple of weeks in NZ in 2005, and based myself mostly in Queenstown within easy reach of Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. Also had a day over at Cadrona and a couple at Mount Hutt.

    Amazing place.

Not snowboarded in Oz, but would find it hard not to head straight back to NZ should I find myself in that area during winter again.

  4. Hey Adam,

I actually started by looking at NZ, as I’m told the terrain there is phenomenal, but the logistics were a nightmare. It was much easier to hop on a bus. Too bad, ’cause some of those mountains look pretty sweet.

Oh well. At least I’ll be riding in June, so I guess I can’t complain. :)

  5. No. You can’t!

    Have a great trip bud.

See you when you get back.

  6. Ok who is not going corporate these days? I even think that the guys making lib tech snowboards are going down this road. I used to think they were independent, the I heard that they were owned by mervin. These are the same guys that own those silly department stores. Ahh… there is no way to just be indy these days. Holla if ya hear me.
