Snowboarding

On My Way to Whistler

So I’m awake at 4:45 in the morning because I couldn’t sleep. This is usually what happens the day of a non-business trip; I get up super-early, not able to sleep, because I’m super-stoked about my trip.

My flight leaves at 8:30, so I’d have to get up sooner than later anyway. Let’s hope I can sleep on the plane; otherwise, it’s going to be a long day.

Yesterday, there were only two lifts not in operation at Whistler: Symphony and Peak Chair. Harmony was open. I hope this trend continues throughout the week, as it will open much of the terrain I’m used to at Whistler and not limit us too much in our run choices.

I should have wifi where I’m staying, so hopefully I can provide some updates while I’m gone.

See you on the west coast!

  2. It was great that they finally opened Harmony (about time). We toured up to Lesser Flute yesterday and there are some BIG slides on the sunny side of Harmony ridge also a lot of visible warming in Symphony bowl. The snowpack lower down (1640m) is still failing easily on the Dec 6th crust although we couldn’t get a failure at 1800m at the top of Lesser Flute. Interesting times on the West Coast!
