In what would appear to be a completely unrelated (yet highly coincidental) event, the Telegraph is currently profiling eight of the toughest ski runs in the world. Check out the article here.
This comes on the heels of our discussions on the best resorts for intermediate skiers and riders.
I am somewhat surprised to see Whistler’s Peak to Creek run make the list, because although it’s long I wouldn’t necessarily call it difficult. Though I suppose any run that’s so long it requires me to take a break in the middle of it counts as tough.
Cool article; thanks for sharing. I agree, Peak to Creek will definitely leave you winded, but it is not a difficult run at all! There are definitely a few here in the US (I think any run in Jackson Hole you do from the Gondola will top P2C!) I’d add to the list
I’m saddened to have never ridden any of these runs. Then again, I am also a bit relieved. Given my current level of fitness, these runs would kick my butt.
So apparently France is full of challenging mountains; nice. This makes up for escargot and frog’s legs.
Not sure about the author phrasing those as the “toughest” (‘iron man’ may be a better choice), but Forbes had an article last year about the most technically-challenging runs in N. America.
