Whistler’s New Trail Map: Please Tell Me This Isn’t It

Can someone out west confirm whether Intrawest is handing this out as Whistler Blackcomb’s trail map this year?

Has anyone at Intrawest noticed yet that the resolution of this map is so bad that it’s unreadable online? And when did Whistler Blackcomb runs develop so many jagged edges?

What is this thing? Did they have a falling out with James Niehues or something? There’s a reason he is the best at what he does. Whistler’s map looked phenomenal before. Now it just looks like sub-standard art.

  1. This map looks like a place mat at Pizza Hut that a kid with four crayons went crazy on because he didn’t want to go to Pizza Hut; he wanted to go to McDonalds.

  2. Totally agree. I was horrified when I opened up a map this weekend. Very hard to figure things out and this coming from a person who knows for the most part the whole mountain very well.

    If tourists and visitors were lost before wait till they try to decipher this map.

  3. It really is a horrible map. I don’t know what they were thinking. It does display a few things better but broadly I hate it. The old map wasn’t great either though, it makes the mountain look much smaller than it is.
