I just snagged a pair of WESC ‘Oboe’ headphones from a Canadian electronics store called MOOG. They sound amazing! truly my favorite listening experience compared to ear-buds or even a stereo sound system. Thing is though, they pretty much drown out any other noise! I suppose you could turn the volume down to get a bit more aware of your surroundings… But as far as comfort goes, they are great, adjustable, and are nice and snug on your head so you could get away with wearing them over a hat without having to worry about them falling off. Also, they have a nylon cord, so that means less chance of breaking and no tangling. Recommended

I’ve been looking for something comfortable, mostly for work. I rarely use headphones while boarding. I have a pair of Skull Candy’s I just bought and I’m getting rid of them, they hurt my head. I’ve got a pair of weSC in the mail. Anybody have anything on weSC??

I find that earbuds tune out noise the most and should be avoided on the slopes. Headphones, on the other hand, still allow you to hear your surroundings, which is definitely important on the slopes. I usually wear a helmet with built-in headphones and I can still talk with my friends at the same time. That’s probably why you see more boarders rocking Skull Candy headphones rather than the ear buds. I’m also curious about the other brands out there, namely WeSC and Nixon

I pretty much only wear headphones when I am riding alone (which is rare) or with someone that goes at a very different pace than me. There are those times when I jsut want some tunes and have them on qiuet enough to still be able to have a conversation.

Ah yeah, I know what you mean. It can get too anti-social when you can’t hear anything else.

For me, I always prefer no headphones because I love meeting new people

Adam gave me the skull candy headphones he reviewed a while back (you can search for that). I found that they are almost too good – they block out outside noise really well and I sort of like to be able to hear people talking to me when I am out on the mountain. In that regard, I prefer the Coosh for boarding.

Thanks for the review, I was boarding the other day with my white ipod headphones. Usually they don’t bother me but for some reason this season im not diggin’ them too much. I’ll look into the Coosh ones.
