That&#039;s a great question. To me, I always look at &quot;on mountain&quot; improvements - and basically, that means new/improved runs and lifts to me - as paramount. I mean, I think if you frequent the same ski hills every year and they continually roll out &quot;improvements&quot; that are basically new hotels in order to maximize revenues, what you&#039;re actually seeing is a degradation and service. By attracting more people but not investing in capacity, ski areas make more money while clogging the hills every time. I don&#039;t mind seeing things like new hotels sprout up alongside improved runs and new lifts, but most ski areas seem concerned with the former only.
