I don’t usually ride with music on, unless I know I’m not going to be in a park, cause I’d be pretty upset if I wrecked and hurt my iPod. It’s also not good to have headphones while I’m working on the mountain, to much going on. The headphones in the helmet would be nice for the other few days though.

I like having my cel phone with me just in case of an emergency on the hill. Two-way radios are good to have for the same reason and they are a great way to communicate with your friends. How else will you know when it’s time for lunch? I found that because there are so many people using the radios, you tend to have to try and figure out who are your friends and who are people just goofing aroind with their radio set to the same channel.

I bought the Skull Candy add-on for my Giro Omen and didn’t find it useful for the reason that you just pointed out. I’m not so worried about the plough situation but rather by the random skiier or boarder who might clip me if I can’t hear them. I also agree that it’s really pointless to have Bluetooth for phones because the reality is that I’m not going to want to hold a conversation with others on the slopes. However, the one communication use that would be extremely useful while I’m on the slopes is the ability to integrate with my two-way radio which is what I use most often while I’m boarding.
