I was there around the new year last year. The conditions were actually pretty good but this was after a lot of snow. We were kinda lucky because we went at a time during that snow "drought" last year in Toronto. I'm planning to go again this year around January 4.

Has anyone been recently in Tremblant during new year's? I am curious how the conditions are in that time.

I feel your pain. I went to Tremblant in Dec. 2005 on one of those bus trips. It snowed a ton, unfortunately, our bus got stuck following the damn storm from Toronto to Tremblant. What normally was an 8 hour bus ride turned into 16 hours of hell. When we arrived at Tremblant, we were greeted with closed slopes and lifts due to a labour strike. Haven't gone back since...

When I was still in Texas, we used to drive out (about 12 hours) to the nearest resort overnight and immediately hit the slopes. We've also tried heading home immediately after getting done. All things considered, trying to head home w/out sleep was a lot more difficult than trying to cheat a night of sleep on the way out.
