The Winter Olympics Are Headed to Russia

The 2014 Winter Olympics are headed to the Russian resort town of Sochi. Maybe I’m out of touch, but I had no idea the bidding process was on. Guess I’m still infatuated by the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

According to this article, however, Sochi is extremely lacking in infrastructure:

“Sochi is sorely lacking in infrastructure, with only one outmoded
working ski resort and until recently only one, narrow access road into
the mountains. Winter power black-outs are common.”

Interesting.
