Snowboarding Quick Hits

Ahhhh it’s a statutory holiday here in Canada. Yippeeee! I’ll do a bit of work, then hop on the bike for the afternoon.

In the interim, here’s some news nuggets for y’all:

• Ski resorts Down Under are asking for an expansion of cloud seeding efforts that have brought more snow to the region. Hold on. We can make it snow more in what appears to be an environmentally safe way? Why aren’t we seeding the hell out of clouds all winter long!   :p
• Beaver Creek is getting a new Gondola. You know, I hadn’t really checked out Beaver Creek before but that looks like one heck of a mountain. Damn.
• Got ski and snowboard war stories? The Sydney Morning Herald is collecting them. Link includes videos of the crashing misfortunes of others. Ouch.
• Got money to invest? Apparently Volcom and Oakley are hot brands with even hotter share prices. Both are close to riding 52-week highs right now.
