Coming Soon: The Ski Channel
Every time I see one of those skiing shows on TV, usually on Saturday morning - you know, the ones where some folks just visit a resort, interview locals and carve up some powder - I can’t help but watch. I’m always interested in the people, the resorts, and the moves. Same goes for snowboarding shows. Oh, and even downhill skiing events. I guess I’ll pretty much watch it all.
According to trade mag Broadcasting & Cable, I might be able to get more soon. (Actually, because I live in Canada, I probably won’t. But most Americans will.) A new “digital VOD” (Video on Demand?) channel will launch early next year, featuring “much more than skiing, extending to
mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, climbing, and just about
anything else people are inclined to do on, well, an incline.” Could be interesting.
