Snowboarding

End of the Season.

Well, I had one last kick at the proverbial can this weekend. I attended a wedding at the Talisman ski resort, and with the weather warming up here significantly and surgery next week (!!), I think that’s it for the 2006-2007 season.

While I was happy to get one last chance to ride, I had to go it alone and on a pretty small hill. Talisman has a vertical rise of about 600 feet, 18 runs, and the terrain park was closed. (It looked like they were having problems with the lift.) With only 18 runs and pretty slow lifts, things got repetitive quickly. I lasted about two and a half hours.

(I’ll write more about Talisman later, but if I had to classify it, I’d say this: imagine Mt. St. Louis Moonstone with conference facilities and a few less runs.)

I’m going to post some sort of a ‘review’ entry shortly, but likely not until mid-week. Tomorrow is my final ‘pre-op’ before ACL reconstruction surgery!

  1. Hope that ACL turns out like new. I hear the relief is immediate. I had to ride alone the past couple times, kinda sucks, but kinda doesnt.
