Snowvision: A Broadband Snowboard Channel

I got two separate heads-ups (hmm, that doesn’t sound right) about Snowvision.com, a new broadband community focused on — you guessed it — snowboarding. The site features a bunch of Flash-based snowboarding clips that range from Danny Kass interviews at the recent NYC Rail Jam to promo videos for snowboarding movies. The site uses Flash-based movie technology similar to what YouTube uses, but unlike YouTube, you don’t have to sift through dozens of amateurs falling off wimpy kickers to find some good stuff. However, an upload feature allows anyone to upload their own content, so that may change.  :)

Other features include “personalized weather feeds, customized resort data and a drag-and-drop playlist interface,” according to one of the notices I got. Coool.

Anyway, very nice site with some good content. Always nice to welcome a new site into the fray.
