Ski and Snowboard World Records Set Indoors

It looks like two world records were set last week at a UK indoor snowslope. First, a snowboarder set the record for longest rail slide at more than 39 meters - about 38 meters farther than I’ve ever gone on a rail. (Wait, have I even tried rails?)

After the snowboarders came the skiers, and a similar record was set at just over 36 meters.

Interestingly, the Guiness Book of World Records folks, who were on hand to witness the event, had a ‘one turn’ rule - so, if you screwed up, you were out.

I should call the Guiness guys up and tell them about all the snowboarding records *I* hold:

- Loudest Yell When Falling Off Unexpected Jump
- Worst Setup to Ever Ride Down Whistler Mountain (Mole Snowboard, very old Flow highback step-ins with those damn little hooks on the bottom of the boot, two years ago)
- Best Helmet Ever
- Most Consecutive Method Attempts Without Landing Actual Method

(Best helmet ever. Goes great with bright yellow goggles, trust me.)

  1. LOL!
    Here’s a snowboarding-related record that I currently hold:
Longest throw into the woods - malfunctioning walkman catagory.
    JB.
