The Times Online’s 10 Best Ski Websites

Mark Frary, ski correspondent at The Times and The Times Online, just posted his list of top ten ski websites. Unfortunately, I wasn’t one of them. But there’s always next year, right? Although the article title specifically mentions ski sites, there’s plenty of snowboarding content to be found within the list.

I wasn’t familiar with any of the sites listed, but found several to be quite interesting (I haven’t yet had time to visit every single one):

  • snowHeads: Frary says this site makes his list because “it is the liveliest discussion forum on all skiing and snowboarding matters on the web.” I only checked the snowboarding forum, but it didn’t seem any busier than snowboarding.com.
  • Skibonk seemed like a cool Web 2.0 mash-up site that combined Google Maps with local ski conditions. Hey, Skibonk: my default location isn’t Ontario, Tonga.
  • Want to become a professional ski bum? Check out Natives. Seems to be geared toward UK residents.

If you’re planning a ski vacation, there’s also a couple of tour sites on the list as well. Worth checking out if you have a few moments.
