This is pretty cool. Ski.com just launched an interactive resort map section that lets visitors view maps of major ski resorts in 3D. Each map details restaurants, trails, lifts and more, all superimposed on a 3D representation of the mountain in a 360-degree environment. It’s really cool. So far, only Aspen, Breckenridge, Snowmass, Vail and Beavercreek are available, but Steamboat, Park City, Telluride, and Jackson Hole are apparently on the way.
Okay, remove this as spam if you must, but check out my 3d Ski Maps at 3dSkiMaps.com. My pitch: These psychedelically beautiful maps show you at a glance the steepness of the slopes on a color scale that’s the same for all ski mountains, so there’s no more guessing what they really mean by “beginner”, “intermediate”, and “expert”.
Not as many mountains yet, and not as complete, but more useful, imo. I’ll continue to put up more ski mountains as soon as I work out some kinks in my process.
I won’t delete it. :p Nice site, keep us updated!

Thanks! I’ve added 3 more preliminary maps: Aspen Mountain, Northstar at Tahoe, and Park City, Utah. I’m just doing them more or less at random, so if you have any resort you want to see, just let me know.
me personally? How bout a Canadian one like Whistler? What do you need in order to do it?
