Hey Americans: Support the ‘National Ski & Snowboard Month’ Initiative

Looks like the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) and SnowSports Industries America (SIA) are working with the Congressional Ski & Snowboard Caucus to secure a Proclamation from the White House designating January as National Ski and Snowboard Month. What does that mean, exactly? It doesn’t seem like there is a direct benefit, but skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing would certainly receive some additional attention. And I’m sure ski resorts, retailers and equipment manufacturers would all devise ways to use it as a promotional springboard for winter sports in general.

Apparently, 50 co-sponsors are required to help this resolution move forward. The NSAA and SIA are asking suppliers, retailers and reps to contact their state Congressperson and ask that they co-sponsor the resolution. However, I would imagine anyone could call them up to support the cause - not just industry types.
