Snowboarding News
Quick Hits
Sometimes I receive grief about posting quick hits because it doesn’t provide any insight or useful information; just links. If I would expand each of these into a story accompanied by commentary, I would get more attention and search engine love, I’m told. Oh well. Here are a few tidbits of snowboarding-related information making their way around the web:
- Hey Europeans (I know this blog has a few readers from Europe): Burton has introduced a mobile phone service that provides wallpapers, dealer locators and more. Want to learn how to pull off snowboarding tricks in a step-by-step fashion? No problem. Just download a guide to your phone. Though I recommend not trying any tricks while reading the guide..
- Hey Coloradians (or whatever you folks in Colorado call yourselves): Are you gonna have any snow left to ride on in a few decades? Some people think you won’t. I remember this being a hot topic last year in Whistler when they were suffering through their worst year in 25 years. But this year, the snow was back with a vengeance, and they had a record January.
- Hey television watchers: NBC is carrying taped coverage of the 24th Annual Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships from Stratton on Sunday.
- Hey Whistlerites (again, I don’t know if…): The Telus Ski and Snowboard Festival starts today and runs until April 23. The Globe and Mail has a few tips on attending the event.
Have a great weekend. I hope a few of you manage to get some riding in!
