Snowboarding

It’s Over For Real Now.

So a while back I hurt my knee playing basketball. When I got back from Whistler I got it checked out by my doctor, who said I should rest for a couple of weeks to not re-injure it. Well, a couple of weeks went by, it started feeling good again, and I decided I was ready to start playing sports again (Ultimate Frisbee this time).

Within ten minutes I had totall re-injured the knee. But this time, it really started to swell and hurt. Within a few hours I couldn’t walk anymore. So off to the hospital I went.

To make a long story short, the x-rays reported no bone damage. The doctor is pretty sure I’ve got some ligament and/or cartilage damage (but no ligament tears mind you – ths is good news), but can’t get a better read until the swelling dies down. So I’m on crutches, have a huge brace on, and have to return to the hospital wednesday morning. Physio, here I come!

So with that, my snowboarding season is done. But at least it ended with 40cm of powder. I’m now going to work on improving this site. I don’t have all the plans in place yet, but I would like to start building some permanent content around this blog, while of course still maintaining it. I still need to fix the header and improve the navigation structure too. And think of ways to keep the blog fresh during the long spring and summer months.  :)
