I’ve set up a “news” category now that I seem to be getting lots of solicitations, press releases and other snowboarding-related stuff. The first entry is from the folks at Bell Solo, who are responsible for those ridiculous (and hilarious, if you ask me) Solo “menace to society” commercials.
I obviously won’t post the release verbatim, which can be found here. The gist is that Solo is going after its target demographic (I’m guessing somewhere around the 15-20 set, which they refer to as “youth wireless”) by sponsoring various snowboarders in Canada and renting out Solo phones, which are part phone, part walkie-talkie, on the hills. Anyone who’s used a walkie on the hill knows they are really useful… but I guess a Solo would only help if all my friends had one (or we all rented ‘em).
