So it looks like the knee is holding up pretty well snowboarding. But when I turn it left or right while I’m standing around, I fall into a heap; my knee just gives way. I think it’s ligament damage, I’m going to have to see when I get back.
In the meantime, I’ll just keep snowboarding. ![]()
I don’t want to say the conditions here are “epic”, because it’s only snowed a couple of centimetres, but the weather is great and there is snow everywhere. These are definitely some of the best conditions I’ve experienced since I started coming to Whistler.
I have spent both days on Whistler Mountain so far. I spent a ton of time today doing the Upper and Lower Dave Murray downhill, which is going to be the site of the men’s Olympic downhill event in 2010. There’s plenty of snow (hard packed) and no ice, which makes for an extremely speedy run. Yesterday I spent a great deal of time in the Harmony area, known for its roads and bowls, and then did the Peak to Creek run, a seven-kilometre run where I passed exactly three - count ‘em, THREE - people in seven kilometres.
It’s certainly been a good trip so far!
