Upcoming Jaunts: Real and Fantasy

So I get to go to Jay Peak at the end of the month (have I mentioned
this before?). This will be my first real mountain since Whistler. It
will be nice to try my new board on a real hill.

One of the best things about Jay is its green glades. This is something
I’ve never seen anywhere else: wide-open tree riding that’s great for
practicing your skills (and generally full of powder). Sometimes it’s
nice to get off of gromed runs.

Speaking of glades, I had no idea there were a couple of glade runs at
Blue Mountain. They were awesome! The only downside was all the recent
rain had led to the closure of half of them, but some is better than
none.

My “Fantasy” at this point is a late-February trip to Lake Louise.
I have enough Air Miles to make the trip if it’s before Feburary 28
(that’s when Air Miles rates go up). I was thinking of the Banff area
in general, but I am told Lake Louise is superior in that it features
longer runs than other mountains in the area. Is this true?  I was
also contemplating Sunshine Village; maybe I’ll just do both if I get out there.
